Loft Lace Shift Dress Review

Over the weekend, Aili & I had the pleasure of meeting Zach Wahls, who you might recognize for his advocacy on behalf of marriage equality.  Check out this YouTube video or Zach's website if you're interested in learning more. Some thoughts on the Lace Shift Dress by Loft (Style #270225) - This dress retails for $98, but I believe I picked it up during a 50% off all dresses sale for just under $50.  It may be sold out online, but I have seen it recently in all sizes at my local Loft.  The features I like about this dress are the sleeves (more wearable & less thought required to throw this little dress on & there's no need to worry about a cardigan or blazer.  It's simply appropriate for a variety of occasions) & the oversized lace pattern.  I do like the keyhole in the back, but I think I'd prefer a button or hook & eye closure. If you like this pattern, but aren't a fan of the sillhoutte, then you might want to check out the strapless dress (also $98) or pencil skirt, which also comes in a black on black colorway ($79.50).The 68% cotton 32% nylon fabric composition is machine washable, as opposed to Ann Taylor's sleeveless Vintage Lace Dress ($228), which is 100% cotton, but dry clean only.  I do love the scalloped detailing on the Vintage Lace Dress (Style #271120) and its more glamorous vibe, but in my opinion, the Lace Shift Dress is more casual and wearable on a daily basis, especially with sleeves.  I must say, however, that after seeing the cream version on fellow bloggers Cee from To Brighten My DayJean from Extra Petite, I feel compelled to add the Vintage Lace Dress to my cart.  :)
Check back for Aili's outfit details tomorrow!
