Anthropologie Fluted Ponte Dress
In December I made my first purchase at Anthropologie, and I picked up this dress as filler to meet the free ship minimum. I ordered a size too large, so the dress doesn't fit me well, and overall, I just didn't like the look. Got to admit though, its fit-and-flare silhouette is a personal and ultra-flattering favorite. The quality of materials is decent, but the dress is unlined.
I really enjoy shopping at the B&M Anthropologie store; Anthro's style is a departure from my own, but when I have a little time on my hands, I enjoy browsing their unique selection of house wears and clothes. Plus, season after season, Anthro puts out a beautiful range of skirts that I'm always tempted by, but never actually purchase. Frankly, I personally find Anthropologie overpriced, especially in light of the general quality of their clothing (which I find to be on par with with the also rather-expensive-given-the-quality Urban Outfitters, Anthro's parent company. Unlike Anthro, you can usually score an awesome deal at UO, though.). Overpriced it may be, but Anthro stores smell like a million bucks; that fabulous scent is due to the assortment of candles that they constantly burn.
Overly sweet scents can overwhelm me, but I love the fragrance of Anthro's candles. I usually lean towards the fruity, crisp, and clean scents, and I was attracted to the hand poured Capri Blue collection of soy candles--produced in Mississippi by Aspen Bay Candles. Favorites scents definitely include the citrusy sweet Volcano candle and Aili's pick the spicy Havana; each candle retails in the range of $12 for a 5 oz candle to $28 for a 24 oz. candle. Shockingly the Capri Blue candles were 1/2 off, so naturally I ordered a few. Twelve, to be exact. I know, I know. A bit overzealous, perhaps, but now my bedroom smells like a million bucks, and that's definitely worth the $12 I shelled out for the Volcano candle. :)
P.S. Did you know that everything at Anthropologie is for sale? That's right. Every single thing down to the hanger their skirts hang on to the tables where their wares are displayed. Pretty cool, huh?
